A Wall Street titan lowered the boom on Disney for making this woke blunder

Disney’s obsession with injecting wokeness into its movies hurt them with audiences.

Now a billionaire investor is joining fans in their outrage.

And a Wall Street titan lowered the boom on Disney for making this woke blunder.

Disney’s movie business was once one of the most dependable producers of box office hits in Hollywood.

But the company lost sight of its mission.

Instead of trying to entertain audiences, it began to prioritize pushing a divisive left-wing political agenda in its movies.

Marvel movies fall on hard times

The Marvel Cinematic Universe used to crank out one blockbuster hit after another.

Now the franchise is running on fumes after the last several movies failed to deliver at the box office.

That is why one of the biggest investors in Disney is sounding the alarm on the woke agenda in Marvel movies.

Billionaire activist investor Nelson Peltz is trying to get Disney back on track after the entertainment giant began to struggle financially with a sinking stock price and plummeting revenue.

He owns $3.5 billion worth of shares of Disney stock through his investment firm Trian Partners and is trying to get two seats on the company’s board so that he can change its direction.

During an interview with the Financial Times, he knocked two Marvel movies, Black Panther and The Marvels, for being woke.

“People go to watch a movie or a show to be entertained,” Peltz said. “They don’t go to get a message.”

“Why do I have to have a Marvel that’s all women?” Peltz added. “Not that I have anything against women, but why do I have to do that?”

He referenced The Marvels, which featured an all-female cast in the lead superhero roles.

The film ended up getting terrible reviews and bombed at the box office.

“Why can’t I have Marvels that are both? Why do I need an all-black cast?” Peltz said.

Disney lost the magic with its movies

Every division of Disney’s movie business has been struggling.

“[Disney] say we [Trian Partners] know nothing about the movie business – we don’t claim we do – but I don’t think they do, with five big losers in a row,” Peltz remarked. “They’ve lost first place in animation, they’ve lost first place in features . . . Maybe it’s time to change management in those divisions.”

Disney going woke has one of Wall Street’s most famous activist investors trying to drag the company kicking and screaming back onto the right financial path.
