The conservative policies of Ron DeSantis are bearing fruit.
The Sunshine State is seeing an economic and cultural resurgence.
And now Governor Ron DeSantis just led Florida to a number one ranking in this key category.
Not only did Ron DeSantis win a sweeping reelection last year, he also swept in dozens of Republicans with him.
GOP victories lead to conservative policy victories
But unlike other states where GOP control has still resulted in leftist policy wins, in Florida the DeSantis-led GOP has passed a slew of conservative legislative initiatives.
And not surprisingly, those conservative policies have led to a total resurgence in the Sunshine State.
The economy is booming.
The leftist teachers unions are reeling.
And Disney was caught in a mousetrap of DeSantis’ design.
Now, news has come out that has DeSantis smiling again.
According to U.S. News & World Report, Florida is now ranked number one in both education and higher education in 2023.
The ranking comes just as DeSantis began his second term in the Governor’s mansion this year.
And more importantly it comes after primary, secondary, and post-secondary “anti-woke” policies, along with crackdowns on sexually-explicit material in schools, have taken effect.
Putting the lie to the radical Left
Democrats had tried to warn that so-called “book bans” would hurt Florida’s education system.
But now we know the exact opposite is true.
Under DeSantis, and because of his conservative education policies and unwillingness to kneel to the teachers union bosses, Florida’s government education system is better than ever.
Florida has a 90.2% high school graduation rate, which is nearly 4% higher than the country’s 86.5% average.
And according to U.S. News & World Report, 43.2% of the state is college-educated and Florida’s “debt at graduation” total is $24,454, thousands below the national average of $29,300.
“Florida attained statehood in 1845, yet not until a pair of railroad barons built lines down the Atlantic and Gulf coasts in the late 1800s and early 1900s did the state take off, spurring the phenomenal growth of what’s now the third-most populous state,” U.S. News & World Report said in its rankings report.
U.S. News & World Report also reported that Florida is ranked first in having the country’s best tuition and fees.
For education overall, Florida is followed by New Jersey, Massachusetts, Colorado, Utah, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Connecticut, New York, and Washington.
And this good news in education comes after Florida lawmakers have passed measures that would expand the existing K-3 parental rights law to PreK-8.
These rankings put the lie to the leftist woke radicals who claimed DeSantis would destroy Florida public education.
In fact, the exact opposite has happened under the DeSantis administration.
DeSantis is proving standing strong in principles works
GOP Congressional leaders would do well to take note of DeSantis’ results in Florida.
It turns out, Americans are clamoring for a Republican leader who will stand firm and not sell out to the woke Left.
Especially on vital issues like life, the LGBT agenda, and corporate greed.
