Last fall, Joe Biden’s handlers thought Biden could turn around his sinking Presidency by turning Ron DeSantis into the new bogeyman on the Left.
More than six months later the returns are in on that decision.
And Joe Biden realized he made the biggest mistake of his life picking this fight with Ron DeSantis.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis blasted Joe Biden over the March inflation report, which showed prices rising by an astronomical 8.5 percent, the highest since 1981.
“I think it’s important to point out that we had the worst inflation report that this country has had in 40 years in March, it keeps going up every month,” Governor DeSantis declared.
DeSantis slammed Biden for lying to the public last year by claiming inflation was “transitory” in defending the foolish decision to ram the $1.9 trillion-dollar blue state bailout bill through Congress.
“You know, you go back last year, they said inflation wasn’t a worry even though a lot of us were saying that this was gonna be a problem when you’re printing trillions and trillions of dollars,” DeSantis stated noting that the “idea that you can just do that infinitum without there being any consequences was completely foolhardy.”
DeSantis explained that as bad as the topline 8.5% inflation number was, once you dug into the numbers you realized inflation was even worse as the cost of essential goods rose at an even faster pace.
“I mean look, gasoline up about 50 percent over the last year plus used cars up 35 percent, to be able to get a used car. Gas utilities up 22 percent, meat and poultry up 14 percent, electricity up 11 percent,” DeSantis declared adding that “staples that people need to just live a basic life are going up much higher than 8.5 percent.”
DeSantis added that Biden could take steps to solve the problem of rising gas prices by ramping up domestic oil production.
“And so my view would be, but we have abundant resources in this country and yet they’ve constricted that over the last year, you need to unleash that if you did that, that would make an immediate impact and I think would be something that would at least portend relief for people,” DeSantis stated.
But Joe Biden won’t do that.
Destroying the fossil fuel industry is key to the Left’s plan to one day impose the Green New Deal.
That – combined with the Democrats’ massive socialist spending agenda – is why DeSantis predicted inflation is only going to get worse.
“And so I think the – I don’t think this is clearly the end of it, I think it’s continued to accelerate,” DeSantis declared.
