Millions of people travel to the Florida Keys each year to enjoy the beautiful beaches and great weather.

The Keys are also home to some of the nation’s best restaurants.

But patrons were stunned by what one Florida man did with his bread and butter at this Steak and Lobster House in the Keys.

According to Tripadvisor, there are a total of 800 keys (small, low-lying coral islands) that stretch for over 180 miles that constitute the Florida Keys.

There are 42 bridges that play a vital role in connecting all of the Florida Keys islands.

The Keys are also home to some of the nation’s top food destinations.

Tripadvisor released its “Top 10 restaurants in the U.S. for Everyday Eats of 2023.”

Number three on the list of top “everyday eats” places was the Florida Keys Steak and Lobster House in Marathon, Florida.

“This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Keys,” one patron wrote on Tripadvisor. “The food is always top notch from seafood of all types, excellent sushi and the best prime rib in the keys. The service is always spot on, and we were lucky enough to have Bob as our waiter on this visit. The place was packed as always, we had made reservations and were seated promptly.”

But the Florida Keys Steak and Lobster House recently made the headlines for a reason that no one would have ever predicted.

18-year-old Dominic Steven Davis went to the Steak and Lobster House on Saturday to enjoy a meal with his friends.

But things quickly got out of hand.

At 7:44 p.m., the manager called the police and reported that a group of people, including Davis, were throwing bread and butter on the newly-painted walls and ceiling.

“The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said Dominic Steven Davis was arrested on Sunday morning after MCSO deputies responded to a report of a group throwing food at a restaurant in Marathon the night before,” CBS12 reported. “The incident occurred at around 7:44 p.m., MCSO said the manager of the Florida Keys Steak and Lobster House reported that a group, which included Davis, was throwing bread and butter at the restaurant’s newly painted walls and ceiling,” CBS12 continued. “The damage was estimated to be around $500.”

On Sunday morning, deputies conducted a traffic stop and arrested Davis.

He was booked into the Monroe County Jail on property damage and charged with criminal mischief.
