Politico posed a question about Taylor Swift turning Florida blue that left Ron DeSantis’ Press Secretary shaking his head in disbelief

Ron DeSantis has fundamentally transformed Florida during his time in the Governor’s Mansion.

DeSantis turned Florida into a solid Red state with his landslide re-election victory in November.

But Politico posed a question about Taylor Swift turning Florida blue that left Ron DeSantis’ Press Secretary shaking his head in disbelief.

Taylor Swift is by far the most-famous woman on the planet.

The pop music icon has garnered more than 279 million followers on Instagram, and her concerts are selling out months in advance.

Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs’ star Travis Kelce has been the center of attention during this NFL season.

In 2020, Swift endorsed Joe Biden over Donald Trump, who she attacked as a white supremacist.

However, Swift has not made an endorsement, yet, for this November’s election.

But a poll, commissioned by Newsweek, showed that Swift’s endorsement could have a massive impact on the Presidential election, given her influence on young voters.

“She’s influenced popular culture, sports, the economics of entire regions of the U.S.,” Newsweek‘s James Haggerty, reported. “So why not politics and elections?”

The New York Times released a leaked memo outlining how the Biden campaign views Taylor Swift as their most-coveted endorsement.

But it is not just Joe Biden who the Democrats are hoping Taylor Swift can help lead to victory this fall.

Democrats are now looking to Taylor Swift to help the Party take back control of Florida from the GOP.

Florida voters handed DeSantis a landslide 19-point re-election victory over Democrat Charlie Crist last November.

DeSantis also led Florida Republicans to a supermajority in both houses of the State Legislature.

He even flipped several traditionally-blue counties, like Miami-Dade and Palm Beach.

Not only has DeSantis flipped counties to red, but the number of registered Republicans in the state also surpassed the number of registered Democrats.

In 2018, Democrats outnumbered Republicans by nearly 300,000.

Today, Republicans outnumber Democrats by more than 400,000 voters.

Swift has a new album coming out called, Florida.

“Democrats are planning voter registration drives at her concerts and will hold listening sessions and karaoke parties of her music as part of ‘A Day of Action (Taylor’s Version)’ when her new album is released in April,” Politico reported. “They’re even going to reach out directly to Swift in the hopes that she’ll use her Miami concerts — and unfathomably gigantic platform — to talk about issues affecting the rights of young people in Florida.”

The fact “that Florida Democrats are pinning their hopes on a mega star like Swift speaks volumes of the state of the party,” Politico continued. “The once reliable swing state now leans Republican, with the GOP holding supermajorities in the state Legislature as well as every position in the Cabinet.”

Press secretary Jeremy Redfern mocked Democrats for thinking Swift could help flip the state back blue.

“Okay, I’ve seen enough journalisming for the day,” he wrote.
