Last October, Ron DeSantis announced that his wife, Casey, had been diagnosed with breast cancer and would soon start chemotherapy.
Casey is now cancer free.
And Ron and Casey DeSantis sat down for a joint interview with Fox News that will put a big smile on your face.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his wife, Casey, have been married for eleven years and together they have three children, Madison, Mason, and Mamie.
From the time he was elected Governor in 2018, Casey DeSantis has played an active role in her husband’s administration.
The most active role Casey has played is spearheading numerous efforts to raise public awareness and funding for important issues such as mental health, cancer research, substance abuse, and improving education.
Even though she was fighting her own battle against breast cancer, Casey DeSantis announced in December that $100 million for cancer research would be included in her husband’s proposed budget for 2022.
After a three-month battle with the disease, Casey DeSantis is now cancer free and feels “really good.”
And she’s more dedicated than ever to raising public awareness and securing funding for cancer research, mental health, and other critical issues facing Americans.
During the interview, Casey DeSantis talked about how Biden and Fauci’s COVID tyranny severely impacted the mental health of Americans, especially young children.
“With mental health, what I noticed in traveling the state and speaking with a lot of kids is that if they come forward and say that they have a mental health issue, that they feel like a victim and that there’s a stigma associated with it,” Casey DeSantis told Fox News Digital in a recent joint interview with her husband.
“We’re really trying to change the narrative with that,” she added, citing initiatives to pass a state curriculum on mental health as well as engage well-known athletes to speak about the issue.
Casey DeSantis also pointed out how virtual learning during COVID “was a terrible, failed experiment and our poor kids suffered immensely.”
She said this is one of the many reasons why she’s proud her husband kept Florida schools open during the pandemic.
“The Governor keeping the schools open has done so much for these kids’ emotional and mental well-being. I really am so sad to hear that that’s even part of the dialog in other states that you would be closing schools, not providing the opportunity for some of these kids,” Casey said.
Casey DeSantis also ripped the corporate-controlled media for trying to divide the American people, saying, “I think we are divided, and I think it’s very unfortunate. I think that if there were more outlets that would probably tell more accurate information that I don’t think that we would be so divided. I think that there’s a lot of entities that make a profit off of divisiveness.”
With Casey DeSantis now cancer free, she will be back in the public spotlight more and more as her husband is facing re-election this November.
