Ron DeSantis is about to deliver this major victory for life in Florida

Mar 13, 2024

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is protecting the lives of the unborn in the Sunshine State.

The state is going to give prospective parents more help in choosing life.

Now Ron DeSantis is about to deliver this major victory for life in Florida.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis defied GOP establishment critics who urged him to avoid protecting life.

He signed a heartbeat bill in Florida that outlaws abortion after six weeks, which is currently on hold while the Florida Supreme Court weighs a case about the 15-week abortion ban that was passed during his first term.

While the fate of Florida’s heartbeat bill is being decided in court the state is taking action to support expecting parents.

Florida creates online pregnancy resource center

The Florida Legislature is sending a bill to DeSantis’ desk that creates a website of state resources and other information for new and expecting parents.

The Florida Department of Health Agency for Healthcare Administration and Department of Children and Families will put the information on an “easy to navigate” website.

The website will contain information on prenatal care, maternal health services, crisis pregnancy centers, and educational information for new fathers.

“It is an online hub to display the wraparound services available in Florida that support women and families throughout pregnancy and parenting,” bill sponsor Republican State Senator Erin Grall explained.

Grall, who was the sponsor of the heartbeat bill, stated that current pregnancy resource information is hard to find and scattered across different websites.

Democrats attack bill to help pregnant mothers for not promoting abortion

Democrats in the legislature slammed the website for not promoting abortion and including information about crisis pregnancy centers.

They attacked the bill to help expectant mothers for being pro-life.

“We’re going to be putting together a website that is going to be an alternative to abortions, even though abortions are legal and safe here in the state of Florida,” Democrat State Senator Lori Berman.

Democrats claimed that giving expecting parents information on crisis pregnancy centers was “harmful.”

Republican State Representative Berny Jacques blasted Democrats for trying to use the website to promote abortion.

“It’s quite disturbing that some of my colleagues in this chamber [are] hellbent on adding the killing of unborn to a website that has to do with resources for parents,” Jacques said. “Because God forbid, somebody chooses to bring in a life here in our state.”

Grall fired back at the abortion advocacy by Democrats during the bill’s debate.

“I always find it fascinating that everything that we talked about turns into abortion when we’re here to talk about pregnancy and parenting and all of the services that we provide as a state,” Grall said. “I just think the most liberal person woman who’s pregnant next to the most conservative woman who’s pregnant, the facts are still the same about the development of that child.”

Florida will be able to give expecting mothers the support they need to help them choose life with the new website.
