Ron DeSantis just secured a final victory for parental rights against the woke Left in Florida

Taking back control of the educational system from the Left has been a top priority for Ron DeSantis during his time as Governor.

Left-wing activists thought they could use the legal system to maintain their iron grip on education in Florida.

But Ron DeSantis just secured a final victory for parental rights against the woke Left in Florida.

America will never be the same

America was forever changed by the two years of lockdowns, forced closures, and masks/vaccine mandates during the pandemic.

Thousands of small businesses closed their doors permanently and countless Americans were prevented from seeing their dying family members one last time before they passed.

But despite the horrific attack on common sense and individual liberty, there were a few silver linings.

The school closures during the pandemic exposed many parents to the left-wing indoctrination taking place in their child’s classroom each day.

This led to parents showing up at school board meetings in droves to voice their opposition to mask mandates and teaching Critical Race Theory and other woke propaganda to children.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made it his mission to take back control of the classrooms from woke leftists and restore parental rights in education.

DeSantis signed the Stop WOKE Act into law, which removed Critical Race Theory and similar left-wing courses from the public-school curriculum in Florida.

And despite facing a nationwide smear campaign, DeSantis also signed the Parental Rights in Education Bill into law.

The Parental Rights in Education Bill simply prohibited teaching gender and sex to children in kindergarten through third grade.

The word “gay” or the word “homosexual” do not appear anywhere in the legislation.

However, the Left dubbed it the “Don’t Say Gay Bill” and launched a nationwide smear campaign against DeSantis to try and defeat it.

Disney even entered the fight and tried to use their status as the state’s largest employer to strong-arm DeSantis into vetoing it.

DeSantis secures victory for parental rights

After DeSantis refused to back down and signed the bill into law, attorney Roberta Kaplan, the same legal counsel who represented E. Jean Carroll in her defamation suit against Donald Trump, filed a lawsuit to try and stop it in court.

But the attorneys reached a settlement in the case on Monday and handed Ron DeSantis a “major win” against the woke Left.

“Today, the Office of Governor Ron DeSantis announces a major win against the activists who sought to stop Florida’s efforts to keep radical gender and sexual ideology out of the classrooms of public-school children in kindergarten through third grade (5- to 9-year-olds),” a statement from DeSantis’ office read.

The statement continued, “In 2022, Governor Ron DeSantis stood up to activists and extremists who mobilized to smear and stop the Parental Rights in Education Act. The Act: Prohibits classroom instruction about sexual orientation or gender identity in K–3 classrooms, and after 3rd grade, these conversations need to be age-appropriate, ensures that at the beginning of every school year, parents will be notified about healthcare services offered at the school, with the right to decline any service offered, ensures that whenever a questionnaire or health screening is given to K–3 students, parents receive it first and provide permission for the school to administer the questionnaire or health screening to their child.”

General Counsel Ryan Newman celebrated the Governor’s win over “judicial activism” of the Left.

“We fought hard to ensure this law couldn’t be maligned in court, as it was in the public arena by the media and large corporate actors,” State General Counsel Ryan Newman said in a statement. “We are victorious, and Florida’s classrooms will remain a safe place under the Parental Rights in Education Act.”
