The importance of Constitutional Carry was revealed during the pandemic when Florida’s Democrat Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried stopped taking applications for concealed carry permits.
Democrats raged when DeSantis made Florida a Constitutional Carry state by claiming it would make the state more dangerous.
Former Representative Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (D-FL) claimed that the law was putting “criminals above our children.”
The bill passed in the aftermath of a shooting at a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, by a transgender gunman.
A Florida Democrat suggested the law would endanger students.
“Guns are killing our children and tearing apart families. It’s not books, it’s not drag queens, it’s not even ‘wokeness,’ it’s guns! Even with the loss of these precious lives, the FL legislature is STILL pressing forward with its permitless carry bill. It’s a damn shame,” State Senator Shevrin Jones (D-FL) said.
State Representative Christine Hunschofsky (D-FL) was the Mayor of Parkland when the tragedy occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
She claimed that schools would not be safer from the law.
“Untrained carry is what it is,” Hunschofsky said. “You are not making our communities, our schools, or any places safer with this.”

Murders decreased in major metropolitan areas across Florida, including Tampa, Orlando, Miami, and Jacksonville, after Constitutional Carry passed.
The hysterical claims of Democrats that people were being put in danger and criminals would run wild were false.
Schools were going to be turned into war zones because of DeSantis, but at the school district covering the county of the capital city of Tallahassee, the opposite happened.
Leon County schools reported a dramatic decrease in the number of guns discovered on campus.
“During the 2022-23 school year, the Leon County School District reported confiscating 10 firearms from school campuses. So far this school year, the district has only confiscated one firearm,” The Tallahassee Democrat reported.
The predicted bloodbath in Florida from Constitutional Carry never happened.
