The Biden administration is sounding the alarm, warning Americans to expect “severe illness and death” this winter due to the new Omicron variant.
Democrat-run states and cities are preparing for another round of lockdowns and restrictions.
But Ron DeSantis just made one promise to Floridians that will send Joe Biden and Anthony Fauci off the rails.
Even though experts believe the Omicron variant is much milder than the previous Delta variant, the Democrats and corporate-controlled media are trying to whip the American people into a frenzy over it.
On Sunday, Anthony Fauci echoed the Biden administration’s prediction that it will be a winter of “severe illness and death” for unvaccinated Americans, telling CNN’s Jake Tapper that “the President is correct.”
Fauci then called for more restrictions and mandates, urging the Biden administration to “do more to mitigate against” the Omicron variant.
“When you travel in your indoor settings that are congregate, wear a mask,” Fauci said. “It is going to be tough. We can’t walk away from that, Jake. We can’t because with Omicron that we’re dealing with, it is going to be a tough few weeks to months as we get deeper into the winter,” he added.
Of course, the Biden administration followed Anthony Fauci’s recommendations in lock step during a speech Joe Biden delivered to the nation on Tuesday.
However, during an interview with Fox News Channel’s Maria Bartiromo, Governor Ron DeSantis preempted Joe Biden’s speech by promising Floridians that he “will not let anybody lock them down.”
“And so, yes, we are seeing Omicron in Florida and really all throughout the country,” DeSantis began. “Fortunately, Omicron is not shown to produce the same level of hospitalizations as the Delta variant did . . . At the end of the day in Florida, Floridians know, we will not let anybody lock them down. We will not let anyone take their jobs. We will not let anyone ruin their businesses. And we will not let anyone close their schools,” he added.
DeSantis then ripped the Biden administration for pushing more “lockdowns and closures” almost two full years after promising it would take “15 days to slow the spread.”
Unlike the Biden administration, DeSantis is also pushing early treatment in Florida for coronavirus patients.
“We do put a lot of emphasis, unlike most states, and certainly unlike the Biden administration, on early treatment when people do get infected,” DeSantis said. “And so, since we have rolled out our monoclonal antibody clinics, we have had one of the lowest hospitalization rates in the country. So we’re going to continue focusing on early treatment, and we’re going to continue protecting people’s individual choices and freedoms.”
While many Americans are bracing for another round of lockdowns and mandates, Governor Ron DeSantis is promising to keep the Sunshine State free and open for business.
