Ron DeSantis just went all-in on stopping George Soros-backed prosecutors from implementing soft-on-crime policies

Crime is skyrocketing in Democrat-run cities across the country.

This problem is in large part due to George Soros-backed prosecutors implementing soft-on-crime policies.

But Ron DeSantis just went all-in on stopping George Soros-backed prosecutors from implementing soft-on-crime policies.

Ron DeSantis set off a firestorm in August of 2022 when he suspended Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren for refusing to enforce the laws he swore an oath to uphold.

Warren was one of the many George Soros-backed prosecutors across the country who are abusing their power to advance the Left’s woke agenda.

DeSantis suspended Warren for “refusing to enforce any prohibitions on sex change operations for minors” and for “asserting that he would not enforce any laws relating to protecting the right to life in the Sunshine State.”

Warren sued DeSantis for allegedly violating his First Amendment rights, but a district court ruled in the Governor’s favor although it did agree that he violated Warren’s right to free speech.

However, a federal appellate court recently vacated the ruling and instructed the district court to reconsider its decision.

The ruling also empowered the federal court to reinstate Warren to his position as Hillsborough County State Attorney.

“Because DeSantis lacked probable cause to believe Warren neglected his duty or was incompetent, we do not address whether probable cause would have defeated Warren’s claim,” the opinion said.

But Ron DeSantis is not backing down from his decision.

“Ron DeSantis is petitioning a federal court to do a full court review in the case of suspended Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren,” Mynews13 reported. “The administration is requesting the full court’s consideration this time, rather than the participation of a three-judge panel.”

“The panel opinion strikes an unprecedented blow against a state’s sovereign interest in managing its officials and ensuring the faithful execution of its laws,” DeSantis’ attorneys wrote in the petition.

“Among the state’s complaints is that the appeals court ‘erred’ in classifying Warren’s pledge not to prosecute abortion cases as “‘protected speech,’” Mynews13 also reported. “In the filing, they warned that the ruling against Warren’s suspension is comparable to allowing a prison warden to remain in their position while they simultaneously protest ‘mass incarceration’ and threaten to release violent inmates.”

DeSantis said the ruling would allow the Left to transform “the First Amendment from a shield against government oppression into a sword against a governor’s disciplinary decisions.”

Only time will tell whether DeSantis’ petition is accepted by the court.

But the Florida Governor showed he is serious about stopping George Soros-backed prosecutors from implementing soft-on-crime policies that place criminals right back on the streets.
