A resurgence of communist ideology is taking place in classrooms across the country.
Students are indoctrinated to believe that communism will save them from the alleged evils of free market capitalism.
And Ron DeSantis just revealed one scary truth about communism that the Left refuses to accept.
When the Soviet Union fell in 1991, it was supposed to be the end of a century, where over 100 million people were murdered in the name of communism.
But today, over 1.5 billion people are still living under communism in places like China, Cuba, and North Korea.
There has also been a resurgence of the communist ideology in schools and colleges that coincided with the Left’s takeover of American education.
According to the American Institute for Economic Research, more than 60 percent of professors admit to holding socialist beliefs.
Of course, on paper, communism can be appealing to a young student who is not aware of its brutal legacy of murder, torture, and destruction.
That is why Governor Ron DeSantis just signed a bill that will ensure students in Florida are taught about the true evils of communism.
On Wednesday, DeSantis held a press conference at the Hialeah Gardens Museum, where he officially signed a bill into law that requires teaching students the truth about communism.
DeSantis pointed out how college professors often try to “whitewash communism” to make it appealing to young students.
“Not only is it lost about the evils of communism, you go to a lot of institutions in our own country, a lot of these colleges, you know, they try to rehabilitate communism, they try to whitewash communism,” DeSantis said. “Sometimes they’ll say, ‘well true communism has never been tried,’ all this, so there’s apologists for communism in our society.”
The legislation includes a number of topics that must be taught, such as “the history of communism in the United States and domestic communist movements, including their histories and tactics, atrocities committed in foreign countries under the guidance of communism, and comparative discussion of political ideologies, such as communism and totalitarianism, which conflict with the principles of freedom and democracy essential to the founding principles of the United States.”
In order “to preserve the ideals of a free society and promote democracy in the Americas,” the bill also created the Institute for Freedom in the Americas at Miami Dade College at the Freedom Tower.
“We’re gonna tell the truth about communism in the state of Florida,” DeSantis vowed. “We’re gonna tell the truth about the evils of communism,” he continued. “We’re gonna tell the truth about the unprecedented death toll of the 20th century at the hands of communist tyranny, 100 million killed at the hands of communist regimes spreading from China to the Soviet Union to Cuba.”
“The truth will set us free,” DeSantis added.
“We will not allow our students to live in ignorance, nor be indoctrinated by Communist apologists in schools,” he promised. “To the contrary, we will ensure students in Florida are taught the truth about the evils and dangers of Communism.”
Communism is on the rise in schools and universities across the country.
But Ron DeSantis is keeping the evil ideology out of the Sunshine State by teaching the truth about communism.
