Ron DeSantis isn’t afraid of controversy.
He’s leading the fight against the woke cancel culture mob.
And now a Major League Baseball player just created a firestorm by publicly admitting he agrees with Ron DeSantis on this hot-button issue.
Ron DeSantis recently sent the Left into a frenzy when he officially declared Sarasota native Emma Weyant the “rightful winner of the 2022 NCAA Division 1 Women’s 500-yard Freestyle.”
Weyant came in second place recently to University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas, who is a biological male who transitioned into being a “woman.”
“By allowing men to compete in women’s sports, the NCAA is destroying opportunities for women, making a mockery of its championships, and perpetuating a fraud,” DeSantis wrote in a tweet containing his statement.
“In Florida, we reject these lies and recognize Sarasota’s Emma Weyant as the best women’s swimmer in the 500y freestyle,” he added.
However, on Tuesday, the controversy rose to a new level when Tampa Bay Devil Rays infielder Taylor Walls shared DeSantis’ proclamation along with the comment, “Couldn’t agree more.”

Of course, Walls is now facing criticism from the media and from Major League Baseball, which is not surprising since the organization relocated the 2021 All-Star game out of Atlanta after the Republican-led legislature passed laws to strengthen voter ID requirements.
During an interview with the Tampa Bay Times, Walls discussed the outrage over saying that he agrees with Governor DeSantis.
“In my opinion, I don’t think I did anything wrong,” Walls told the Tampa Bay Times after playing in Wednesday’s game in North Port. “I think I just gave my opinion. Some people may have taken that out of context. And I’m very sorry to them. I respect them. I don’t mean any disrespect to anybody at all.”
Unfortunately, anyone who doesn’t support the Democrats’ agenda is censored and canceled by the woke mob.
Walls said that this is the reason he tries to avoid discussing politics.
“Usually, I try to keep politics away from everything,” Walls said. “Other people’s views are other people’s views. I respect that 100 percent. The same way I feel that mine should be respected, too. So, no, I’m not a big political-rant guy, I’m not trying to spark many conversations.”
But at the end of the day, Walls refuses to back down from saying he agrees with Ron DeSantis on biological males competing in women’s sports.
“Honestly, it’s just something to where I was kind of voicing my opinion out loud. It was just more of an impulsive thing to where I saw something, (and) I agreed with it,” he added.
Whether or not Walls will be punished for his tweet is still to be determined.
But the immediate outrage over him simply agreeing with the Governor of the state he lives and works in only highlights the growing problem of censorship in America.
