New management is trying to pull CNN to the center.
But it’s still the same old fake news CNN.
And CNN pulled a dirty trick on Ron DeSantis. But the response will leave you grinning from ear to ear.
Left-wing activists in the corporate-controlled press salivated over the potential for Hurricane Ian causing death and destruction in Florida.
Reporters hoped Ron DeSantis would flub the response so they could write hit pieces comparing DeSantis to President Bush in Hurricane Katrina in the hopes of derailing DeSantis’ re-election and potential 2024 Presidential campaign.
CNN stood at the tip of this media spear.
Radical left-wing activists Steve Contorno – who used to work as a leftist partisan at the Tampa Bay Times – actually attacked DeSantis for telling residents to heed the warning of local officials and evacuate.
According to Contorno this represented a major flub because DeSantis told Floridians to pay attention to science and ignore the COVID hysteria about masks and lockdowns.
An abrasive political style is what has endeared DeSantis to Republican voters across the country amid his ascent within his party, but it has also resulted in strained relationships with the same local and national leaders DeSantis must now collaborate with to get Florida through this storm.
After initially ceding coronavirus action to city mayors and county officials, DeSantis made a hard pivot and stripped municipalities of their ability to manage the pandemic while encouraging residents to ignore local precautions on masks and other mitigation measures.
This week, though, DeSantis urged Tampa Bay residents to follow the advice of local leaders and lauded county emergency management teams as experienced professionals.
DeSantis spokesman Bryan Griffin mocked Contorno’s blatant left-wing partisanship.
There's no story here, but @CNN is @CNN. Of course there's a difference between heeding local evacuation orders in an emergency and COVID lockdown overreach. The governor has been clear: this storm must be taken seriously and this is no time for politics or pettiness. https://t.co/2VJsvzcCIn

But CNN running a hit piece attacking DeSantis for trying to save lives and prepare Floridians for what could be an historic storm showed just how desperate the corporate-controlled media is to attack DeSantis.
