California Governor Gavin Newsom is definitely running for President in 2024 if Joe Biden decides not to seek a second term.
Newsom spent the past few months bolstering his status in the Democrat Party by constantly attacking Ron DeSantis.
But Gavin Newsom just stunned reporters with this jaw-dropping message for Ron DeSantis.
Ron DeSantis is the most popular Republican elected official in the country.
Outside of Donald Trump, no other Republican has the level of support among GOP voters as DeSantis.
DeSantis’ rock star status in the Republican Party also makes him a top enemy of Joe Biden and the left-wing media, who view him as a potential threat in 2024.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has been repeatedly attacking DeSantis since Independence Day, when he spent $105,000 on a TV ad in Florida attacking DeSantis.
Newsom pledged to donate $100,000 to Charlie Crist’s campaign for Governor after he won the Democrat Primary.
He also begged Merrick Garland to investigate and arrest Ron DeSantis on “kidnapping” charges over the 50 illegal aliens he sent to Martha’s Vineyard.
And just recently Newsom began challenging DeSantis to a public debate.
During a press conference on Thursday, a reporter asked Newsom if he was serious about challenging Ron DeSantis to debate him on CNN.
“Of course I am, but it’s a tough time to bring that up,” Newsom responded.
Hurricane Ian made landfall as a Category 4 storm on Wednesday and wreaked havoc across the Sunshine State.
For once, Newsom took the high ground and refused to discuss his feud with DeSantis given the current disaster unfolding in Florida.
“Let me just express deep empathy and respect for the challenges the Governor is facing, of course all Floridians are facing,” Newsom said. “We’ve offered support and they know that we’re there when they need it,” he continued, adding, and “it will be there for them.”
Newsom pledged to help with the aftermath of the storm should Florida need any assistance.
“And we’re committed not just in expressing the urgency of the moment, but the aftermath in terms of the recovery; something in California we know all too well.”

Newsom is just using good political sense.
He knows attacking DeSantis during the middle of a natural disaster would not do him any favors.
And he will certainly try to knife DeSantis the first chance he gets.
