The Biden administration turned the pandemic into a massive power grab for big government.
Businesses were shut down, schools were closed, and vaccine and mask mandates were implemented across the country.
But Governor Ron DeSantis just made sure Floridians are protected from future power-hungry bureaucrats like Anthony Fauci.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed several bills into law over the past few days that sent Democrats and the Left into a fit of rage.
On Monday, DeSantis signed legislation to “combat the influence” of Communist China by prohibiting Chinese government agencies, businesses, and citizens from owning land in Florida.
On Tuesday, DeSantis signed a bill that gives teachers more autonomy over their classrooms and breaks the teachers union stranglehold on education by prohibiting the government from deducting union dues from the paychecks of teachers.
Then, on Wednesday, DeSantis signed legislation to protect Florida from Biden’s growing border crisis.
But DeSantis was not done yet.
On Thursday, DeSantis signed a stack of bills that permanently bans COVID-19 mandates in Florida.
One of the bills prohibits both governmental agencies and private companies from requiring a vaccine passport or a negative COVID-19 test to shop or work at their places of business.
DeSantis pointed out how Biden and Fauci’s mandates had zero to do with health and more to do with control.
“The purpose of them was not to safeguard your health,” DeSantis said. “The purpose of them was to control your behavior,” he continued, before adding that “they wanted you to behave the way they thought fit, and they were willing to use coercion to do it.”
“So that was totally unacceptable,” he added.
The legislation does not just apply to COVID vaccines.
It applies to any vaccine under “emergency use authorization.”
But it wasn’t just vaccine mandates that Republicans went after.
Educational institutions are also prohibited from implementing mask mandates.
DeSantis pointed out how so-called “experts” like Anthony Fauci were wrong about everything.
“They may be people that have a lot of credentials, but if they’re wrong, they’re wrong,” he said. “And there is a right answer when it comes to this stuff,” DeSantis continued, before adding that “we want to make sure that people are protected in Florida.”
“California doesn’t want to do that,” he added. “We want to do it.”
He also signed a bill that prohibits gain-of-function research and legislation that allows doctors to make conscience-based objections to certain treatments.
“It ensures that physicians can follow the data, not dictates,” DeSantis said. “And we want our physicians practicing evidence-based medicine, we don’t want it to just defer to authority or to just follow the herd.”
Ron DeSantis stood up and defended freedom in Florida during the pandemic.
And now he is ensuring Floridians will be protected from future medical tyrants like Fauci.
