Florida Governor Ron DeSantis emerged from the Midterm election as the brightest rising star in the Republican Party.
DeSantis turning Florida deep red with a 19-point win led to heightened chatter that DeSantis would be the GOP’s strongest candidate to run against Joe Biden.
But now Ron DeSantis just got hit with one 2024 demand that will turn his life upside down.
Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn is one of Donald Trump’s strongest supporters.
Since being unfairly drummed out of Washington, D.C. in the Russia collusion hoax, Flynn moved to Florida and is now one of Ron DeSantis’ constituents.
That gives Flynn a unique perspective on the 2024 race.
And in a speech in Clearwater to the Tampa Bay Trump Club, Flynn spoke for many in the pro-Trump faction who want DeSantis to sit out the 2024 race and wait until 2028.
“I live in the southern part of Sarasota,” Flynn told the crowd. “In Sarasota County, it’s like the North v. the South down there. There’s an extraordinary amount of corruption that we have exposed, sadly.”
Flynn stated his belief that DeSantis should serve out his second term before running for President.
“You know what I want Ron DeSantis to do?” Flynn added. “I want Ron DeSantis to stick around for four years.”
“I want him to raise holy hell not just here in Florida, but I want him to set an example for the rest of the Governors in this country,” Flynn continued.
However, polls show DeSantis is the strongest candidate Republicans could run in 2024.

Polls also show DeSantis leading Donald Trump in a hypothetical 2024 matchup.

Some Trump supporters are worried about these numbers but do not want to attack DeSantis directly because of DeSantis’ popularity with the conservative base.
So many, like Michael Flynn, retreat to the politically safe ground of saying they want DeSantis to spend eight years as a great Governor of Florida and then run for President after Trump takes his turn in 2024.
