Ron DeSantis responded to a question about 2024 with one answer that left his supporters on the edge of their seats

For months, rumors have circulated that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was planning to announce his Presidential campaign after the state legislative session ended.

The legislature adjourned last week.

And Ron DeSantis just responded to a question about 2024 with one answer that left his supporters on the edge of their seats.

Ron DeSantis cemented himself as a frontrunner for the GOP nomination with his 19-point landslide reelection victory in November that turned Florida into a solid red state.

DeSantis even took the top spot in a few Republican Presidential Primary polls taken just after the Midterm elections.

But DeSantis refused to discuss a potential 2024 White House bid and stayed focused on passing his agenda in the state legislature.

However, DeSantis did visit several of the top Republican Presidential Primary states over the past two months as part of his book-signing tour.

DeSantis also headlined numerous GOP fundraising dinners and events in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and other important GOP states.

During interviews with the press, DeSantis has remained disciplined about not sharing his plans for 2024.

But that is starting to change now that the legislative session is over.

On Wednesday, a reporter asked DeSantis if he had any updates to give about running for President.

“So, I’ve been pretty busy,” DeSantis responded. “I know there’s different stuff in the news, but we’ve been busy.”

“On Monday, sticking it to the CCP [Chinese Communist Party] so they’re not buying land in Florida,” he continued.

He mentioned the “paycheck protection” legislation he signed on Tuesday that prohibits the government from deducting union dues from the paychecks of teachers, as well as the pay raise Florida educators just received.

“Yesterday we did the biggest increase in pay for teachers, but we also protected them against mandatory deduction from school unions, more money in their paycheck,” he said. “And then today, doing this great stuff on illegal immigration,” he continued, before adding, “so, that’s kind of been my focus.”

But then DeSantis dropped his biggest hint yet that he is running for President.

“I may have something to say about the overall landscape for ’24, but stay tuned on that,” he said.

Ron DeSantis was expected to make his announcement sometime after the legislative session adjourned.

Now that the session is over, it looks like DeSantis is preparing to enter the race any day now.
