On Wednesday, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley became the first Republican to challenge Donald Trump for the 2024 GOP nomination.
But polls show Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is the only Republican who poses a threat to Donald Trump in the GOP Primary.
And Sarah Palin just said six jaw-dropping words to Ron DeSantis about running for President in 2024.
In April of 2021, former South Carolina Governor and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley told reporters that she would not run against Donald Trump in 2024 if he entered the race.
“I would not run if President Trump ran, and I would talk to him about it,” Haley said at the time.
However, on Wednesday, Nikki Haley went back on her word when she declared herself a Republican candidate for President during an announcement rally in South Carolina.
Even though she is the first major Republican to challenge Trump, Haley does not pose any threat to the former President as she barely picks up 1% of GOP support in the polls.
Sarah Palin is a former Governor who understands the pressures of a Presidential campaign after running as Mitt Romney’s Vice Presidential pick in 2012.
During a recent interview with Newsmax, Palin discussed the 2024 Presidential Primary race and offered her thoughts on the current field of candidates.
“I’m all about healthy, competitive primaries,” Palin said. “That makes everybody debate more articulately and work harder and let the people know what [their] records are and visions for this country are,” she continued, before adding “I love healthy debate and competitive primaries.”
But Palin had a warning for Nikki Haley about challenging Donald Trump.
“When you talk about the specific people, the individual people who are looking at putting their hat in the ring,” Palin said, “they got a lot of guts thinking they’re gonna go up against Trump.”
Palin, who is backing Donald Trump for President in 2024, also offered her thoughts on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis running for President in 2024.
“DeSantis doesn’t need to [run],” Palin said.
Palin said DeSantis is the best Governor in the country and should “stay Governor for a bit longer.”
“I think he’s our best Governor,” she said. “And he should stay Governor for a bit longer.”
But Sarah Palin does believe Ron DeSantis will one day become President.
“I envision him as our President someday, but not right now,” she said. “Everybody I speak with in Florida loves him.”
Ron DeSantis is currently keeping his plans for 2024 close to his chest.
And conservatives across the country are on the sidelines anxiously waiting for DeSantis to reveal his plans for the future.
