The Florida Legislature just sent one bill to Ron DeSantis’ desk that will set off a firestorm on the Left

The Democrat Party is radically pro-abortion.

They viciously attack any efforts to protect the lives of unborn babies.

And the Florida Legislature just sent one bill to Ron DeSantis’ desk that will set off a firestorm on the Left.

On Thursday, by a vote of 23-15, the Florida Senate passed a bill prohibiting abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

“I never dreamed I’d be standing here today, not just giving parental notice, but actually being able to save the life of babies that are past 15 weeks of gestation,” Senate bill sponsor Kelli Stargel said, adding “God is so good.”

Since the bill previously passed the State House, it will now go to Governor Ron DeSantis, who has promised to sign it when it reaches his desk.

“Governor DeSantis is pro-life and has expressed support for the concepts in this bill,” Christina Pushaw, DeSantis’ spokesperson, told Reuters before the vote on Thursday.

The Florida bill would go into effect on July 1.

But the Left is wasting no time viciously attacking Ron DeSantis and Republicans in Florida for protecting the lives of precious unborn babies.

“I want abortion to be legal, safe and accessible but I fear this bill moves us in the other direction, forcing women with means to travel out of state and those struggling economically to resort to potentially dangerous options,” Democrat Senator Lori Berman raged.

The Biden administration also opposes the Florida legislation.

Before the vote on Thursday, White House officials hosted a roundtable discussion with pro-abortion groups and Democrat state lawmakers about the Florida legislation, as well as Republican-led restrictions in other states.

“In the face of these challenges, administration officials reiterated the administration’s commitment to exploring every option to protect reproductive health care,” the White House said in a statement.

Under the new legislation, abortions after 15 weeks would be outlawed in Florida unless it is absolutely necessаry to sаve the mother’s life or prevent serious injury, or if the unborn baby hаs а fаtаl аbnormаlity.

Right now, women in Florida are allowed to get an abortion up to 24 weeks into pregnancy.

Of course, even though DeSantis is expected to sign the bill into law, the Constitutionality of the 15-week ban on abortions remains uncertain, as Mississippi’s ban on abortions after 15 weeks is currently before the U.S. Supreme Court.

But Republicans in Florida aren’t waiting around on the Supreme Court.

And Ron DeSantis is expected to sign the the most strict anti-abortion legislation in the history of Florida into law any day now.
